Databases are the backbone of any web application. Back-End developers must have experience in database creation and management, including data structure definition, performance optimization and security.

Back-End developers must also have experience in creating and managing APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and web services. These tools allow different applications and services to communicate with each other and share data.

Security is a major concern in any web application. Back-End developers must have a solid understanding of web application security, including protection against SQL injection attacks, brute force attacks and other types of malicious attacks.
